Micro-Enterprise Loans

The Southwest Initiative Foundation's Micro-Enterprise Loan Program was created to help entrepreneurs develop small businesses and self-employment opportunities in the 18 counties of southwest Minnesota.  The program provides customized support for entrepreneurs through ongoing technical assistance and training as needed for the length of the loan.

The Micro-Enterprise Loan Program was created with funding assistance from the United States Small Business Administration (SBA).  It has also received support from the Otto Bremer Foundation and United States Department of Agriculture.

In Fiscal Year 2006, 13 Micro-Enterprise Loans were awarded, totaling $160,900.
