Grants

The Southwest Initiative Foundation granted $948,815 to 196 programs and projects in Fiscal Year 2006. Of that total, $234,071 was granted by the Foundation's community and component funds.  These dollars were investments into the people and communities of southwest Minnesota. Grants were awarded to projects that promote productive aging, promote inclusive communities, connect youth and communities, promote economic advancement, and promote philanthropy.

The Foundation also provided leadership and resources to many proactive initiatives in 2006, such as the Early Childhood Initiative, Parish Nursing, leadership programs, and activities to promote renewable energy as an economic asset.
