This winter, Diana Anderson, president/CEO of Southwest Initiative Foundation, traveled to the Phoenix area to meet with donors living there as well as those who spend the winter there but who have roots in southwest Minnesota.
In addition to scheduling some one-on-one meetings, SWIF connected with donors and partners at two Cactus League baseball games.
Diana and Vice President Scott Marquardt also met new people from back home at the games and shared about SWIF’s work in southwest Minnesota. “There’s quite the gathering of folks from southwest Minnesota in Arizona over the winter,” she said.
Growing Home Circle members may find warmer places for the winter but their hearts are still back home in Minnesota. The baseball game was a great way for fellow Minnesotans to meet and make new friends.
“It was so fun to connect people to each other,” Diana added.
This was a first for the foundation and it worked well, Diana said. We plan to do it again next next March, so if you winter in Arizona make sure we know so we can get you on our invite list.
