As our Fiscal Year 2013 comes to a close, we’d like to recognize three retiring members of our Southwest Initiative Foundation Board of Directors. Clearly their service leaves a legacy and unquestionable example of leadership in governance that will benefit SWIF forever.

Sandy Ludeman has often been described as SWIF’s “farmer extraordinaire.” He has certainly been a leader extraordinaire during his nine years on the board as well.
Sandy served as board chair from 2010-2011, guiding SWIF through our 25th anniversary year and attending many community celebrations. He has served on the executive committee, loan and microloan review committees and finance and audit committee.
As an experienced board leader, Sandy provided a high degree of governance knowledge. He helped take the SWIF Board of Directors to the next level serving as chair of the governance and nominating committee. And, Sandy’s leadership has greatly contributed to building SWIF’s first-of-its-kind Keep It Growing℠ farmland giving/retention program.
During his time on the board, Sandy could always be counted on to ask thoughtful questions—or deliver a comical remark—whenever needed.
Join us in thanking Sandy for his years of service to the entire region!
