We are excited to announce Adam Strong as an addition to the December 15 Grow Our Own Summit speaker lineup.
Adam is a young community activist who grew up in rural Appalachian Kentucky. He works as a medical laboratory scientist and aspires to one day become a doctor. He is a current member of the National Council of Young Leaders – Opportunity Youth United and a YouthBuild USA alumnus.
At the summit, Adam will share his personal journey and put a face to the data we discuss throughout the day. “I’ve been blessed to find many people and programs that have invested in me, leading me to find myself through service,” Adam says.
Adam writes in his blog post “10 Ways to Beat Procrastination”:
“Be the Shipmaster – Being the shot caller, being in control, it means you are held accountable for your actions and the overall outcome. Yes, you are going to experience setbacks. The unexpected will happen. You will be forced to make decisions and sometimes they might be the wrong ones. A storm may come that’s completely out of your control. Just ride it out. It may completely take you off course. But eventually an opportunity will present itself and you will be able to realign your direction. Remember that although you cannot change your destination overnight, you can change your direction.”
Have you been putting off registering for the December 15 Grow Our Own Summit? Cost is $20 and scholarships are available. Please register by Dec. 9…or better yet, do it today!
