Marcie Anderson has purchased the Fantastic Sams in Litchfield with help from Southwest Initiative Foundation’s (SWIF) Microenterprise Loan Program.
“This such an exciting career move. I have managed the salon for four years, and have fallen in love with this community,” said Marcie, who has 20 years of salon experience as a stylist, manager and educator. “My stylists are very skilled and we all have a passion for people and adding value to their lives one experience at a time.”
Fantastic Sams, a national salon franchise, has had a storefront in Litchfield for more than 10 years. The salon offers haircuts, coloring and other services, plus a full selection of premium, name-brand products.
Marcie purchased the business with her husband, Todd Anderson, who is vice president of sales and marketing at IRD Glass in Litchfield. Financing from SWIF helped the couple take advantage of the opportunity to become business owners.
“It’s hard to say which is more exciting: Marcie’s talent as a stylist or her enthusiasm for this community. We are happy to help her and Todd become small business owners in Litchfield,” said SWIF Economic Development Officer Jackie Turner.

Loan programs have been a key function of SWIF since its inception to support communities and businesses throughout southwest Minnesota. In 2001, microlending was added to existing programs as a tool to support small businesses and people looking for self-employment opportunities.
This microloan program receives funding assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture. For more information, contact SWIF at 800-594-9480, 320-587-4848 or [email protected].
