When you talk about unique southwest Minnesota companies, Miromatrix Medical, Inc., in Glencoe may top the list.
Miromatrix recently released their first product—a biomesh used to repair hernias. This company partnered with Midwest Porcine Recovery and uses animal tissue for decellurization, or a cleansing process, to create the new tissue. They’re working on additional products and uses and have partnerships with the Mayo Clinic and The Texas Heart Institute.
Southwest Initiative Foundation made an investment through our Business Finance Program to help expand their manufacturing facility. This is a true example of our region taking a leading edge with the convergence of biology, agriculture, healthcare–southwest Minnesota innovation at its best!
