Did you know we are one of six Minnesota Initiative Foundations (MIFs) in the state? The independent, nonprofit philanthropic organizations created by The McKnight Foundation in 1986 work to make the six regions outside the Twin Cities metro area stronger and more prosperous.
If you have family, friends or colleagues in other parts of Minnesota, there’s an organization similar to us to direct them to for business support and loans, leadership development, as well as young child resources and Early Childhood Initiatives. The regional organizations are also a place to consider when looking for ways to give back to the community.
Because the MIFs are unique from what other nonprofits provide throughout Greater Minnesota, our staff teams meet throughout the year to share ideas, learn and collaborate with each other. Our staff teams have commonality that we can’t find elsewhere.
