Southwest Initiative Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the new Weld-ology Lab in Jackson. This new training facility at Minnesota West Community and Technical College was a joint effort with AGCO, AppleTree Institute, Balzer, Inc. and others.
In September, there was a special dedication and guests got to tour the lab and talk to students going through the program. Our region is a great place for new and growing manufacturing companies—which means we need a lot of skilled employees to fill really good jobs.
Our experience shows that the best solutions to our workforce challenges bring together educators, private businesses, and economic developers. And, we all need to let people know about the training and job opportunities in Greater Minnesota.
