Child care professionals, educators and caregivers are invited to the KIDS First Conference on February 28-March 1 at Jackpot Junction to hear from inspiring speakers, attend valuable workshops and learn about resources to help support the children they care about. We’re proud to be a part of the KIDS First Conference Team along with our partners Child Care & Nutrition, Inc., Prairie Five Community Action, Prairie Five Head Start and United Community Action Partnership. This event is made possible by funding from the State of Minnesota and the Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Nonprofits located in or serving southwest Minnesota and our fund partner affiliates are invited to join us for a day of inspiration and connection. Learn about about the state of nonprofits in our region, hear from national speaker Dr. Terry Wu about the importance of collaboration, and attend valuable breakout sessions that will help build your skills in the workplace or on an advisory board. There is no cost to attend; a light breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.

We’re hosting an online training on May 14 at 6:30 p.m. for people thinking about starting a nonprofit, those we are brand new to the sector, and nonprofits in the early stages of development. “To Be or Not to Be a 501(c)3 Nonprofit” will cover the basics of what a nonprofit is and isn’t, as well as things that should be considered before, during and after forming a new nonprofit. The training will also cover information on sustaining a nonprofit and keeping it healthy and thriving.
