Upcoming Training: To Be or Not to Be a 501(c) Nonprofit
We’re hosting an online training on May 14 at 6:30 p.m. for people thinking about starting a nonprofit, those we are brand new to the sector, and nonprofits in the early stages of development. “To Be or Not to Be a 501(c)3 Nonprofit” will cover the basics of what a nonprofit is and isn’t, as well as things that should be considered before, during and after forming a new nonprofit. The training will also cover information on sustaining a nonprofit and keeping it healthy and thriving. Chris Fastner and Amanda Whittemore from True North Strategy will lead the 90-minute session. The training is free to attend; registration is required.
Tuition Assistance for Propel Nonprofits Trainings
We are partnering with Propel Nonprofits to provide opportunities for training and professional development for staff, board members, and committee volunteers engaged with nonprofit organizations located in southwest Minnesota. With this exciting new partnership, nonprofit organizations are eligible for tuition assistance to attend Propel’s training offerings.
Grant Resources
Grantmaking is at the heart of our role as a community foundation. We accept grant ideas on an ongoing basis as well as providing defined grant rounds throughout the year. Our grants are open to nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies and projects that use one of these entities as a fiscal partner.
