Recently, Program Officer Jodi Maertens, who leads our Early Childhood Initiative, hosted Kat Kempe, Senior Policy Advocate for Think Small for a discussion around advocacy for supporting early childhood programs. Think Small works to advance quality care and education of children in their crucial early years.
The advocacy discussion focused on the 2015 Legislature activity and what Think Small is doing to strengthen families, prepare providers and work for change in the early learning field. Kempe also shared with parents, school board members and other citizens how they can get involved in the advocacy process and urged them to play a role in advocacy on behalf of the youngest citizens in their communities.
