Greg Raymo retires from Southwest Initiative Foundation Board of Directors
Throughout his four years of service on the Southwest Initiative Foundation Board of Directors, Greg Raymo has been a passionate and enthusiastic advocate for the entire southwest Minnesota region.
Greg is a lifelong southwest Minnesota resident, raised in Madison then raising his family in Worthington. As president of First State Bank Southwest, he works tirelessly on behalf of the community, to grow businesses and advocate for the quality of life that every family deserves. He served on our loan advisory committee and has worked closely with many diverse entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.
He has been active in many SWIF program areas, including the Worthington Early Childhood Initiative, Worthington Area Community Foundation, Business Finance and Microenterprise Loan Program. In addition to his role at SWIF, he serves his community, region and state in many leadership positions.
He and his wife Barb have been faithful donors to SWIF and are Growing Home Circle charter members. Greg was named the 2009 recipient of the Southwest Initiative Foundation Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to SWIF and the region by demonstrating philanthropy, leadership, innovation and collaboration.
He served on our SWIF board from 2013 to 2016 and was on the finance and audit committee and investment committee. He has been an integral part of setting SWIF up for long-term financial success.
Greg’s straight talk and quick wit were welcome additions to board conversations, especially the annual retreats. He is gifted at helping others think bigger, and do better as a result. His visionary leadership leaves a lasting mark on our foundation.
