Oftentimes, when it comes to completing a successful project, there are a few key words that are commonly mentioned as elements that contributed to its success. This is especially evident when I think about our collaboration with Valspar Corporation to bring the Minnesota Beautiful Picture It Painted program to the communities of southwest Minnesota.
Three words that come to my mind: Partnership. Leverage. Support.
Partnership. SWIF and Valspar forged a partnership that has meant 102 restoration projects happened in southwest Minnesota, beautifying our communities’ buildings and parks.
Leverage. By collaborating with Valspar and connecting people to resources, we have directly leveraged 4,474 gallons of paint for use on those various beautification projects over the years, with many more gallons of paint to be leveraged in the future!
Support. Support comes in many forms, but the support I’m thinking of comes from our communities in the form of AWESOME volunteers. In the 37 communities that have been beautified by Valspar paint, there were countless volunteers brushing, rolling and spraying all those gallons of paint onto those buildings and structures in need of restoration. There are so many of you out there that are incredibly generous with your time and talents in helping make your communities a better place – THANK YOU!
I marvel at the power of partnerships and all the good that can come out of simply reaching out to other businesses, organizations and communities to see how collaboration can mean a great benefit for all.
If your community has received a Minnesota Beautiful Picture It Painted grant of paint, we’d love to hear about it. What was your project and what difference did it make in your community?
