Plan Your Legacy
Leave a legacy for tomorrow through thoughtful planning today.
How will you leave your corner of the world a better place? What do you hope your legacy will be?
Many people have goals to support their family and their community. And those goals can be accomplished with future gifts through thoughtful estate planning. This is often called planned giving.
There are a variety of ways to include Southwest Initiative Foundation, a community foundation or another local fund in your plans. We are here to help. No pressure, no obligation.

What is Planned Giving?
Planned giving is Miss Davis—a teacher creating a scholarship fund from a retirement plan to ensure future generations have access to education.
Planned giving is Mr. Landis—an entrepreneur using the value of his business to purchase the latest technology for his community medical center, bringing top-flight cancer care closer to home.
Planned giving is Professor Malone—a scientist endowing a research fund from his will to help continue his work uncovering the secrets of the universe.
Planned giving is one of our passionate donors supporting our mission, just like you. Planned giving is people—people from all walks of life and all income levels. People who want to make a difference in the world. People like you.
If you have a dream of making a significant gift to support your favorite nonprofit while building a more secure future for yourself and your loved ones, planned giving can make that dream a reality.
Some planned gifts pay donors lifelong income; some use assets like stocks or real estate to maximize tax savings; and others are as simple as a designation in a will.
But all planned gifts have one thing in common: they help you make a bigger difference than you ever thought possible.
The process is easy, the rewards are great, and the impact is legendary.
Planned giving: it’s for your favorite causes, for your loved ones, for your future, and for the generations to come.
Call Jeff Vetsch at (320) 583-6342 or send an email early in your estate planning process to discuss options that may work for you.

Bequests
A bequest is a gift made in your will or trust (or, a codicil to your will). It’s one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to support charitable causes important to you, without compromising the asset you want to give while you are alive.

Stories Worth Sharing
Estate Gift Means Farmland Can Keep Growing and Giving Back
Every farm has a story. Neil Kruse wants to see the next chapters for his family’s farm keep the rhythms of planting and harvest, machinery rumbling down the gravel roads in rural Lincoln County and neighbors stopping to visit through the windows of their pickup trucks.

“I get I have a limited time on the earth. For me, it’s a life cycle. When I’m gone, I’m gone.”
Neil Kruse
