New staff Stacy Frost joins the foundation

March 30, 2026

A woman with long light brown hair smiles at the camera. She is wearing a patterned blazer over a blue top, and the background is a softly blurred indoor office or professional setting.

Stacy Frost of Marshall is the new Vice President of Philanthropy and Communications at Southwest Initiative Foundation.

In this senior leadership role, Stacy will oversee our philanthropy and communications efforts, including donor engagement, fundraising strategies, marketing, branding, and public relations.

“SWIF has supported me throughout my career – as a nonprofit professional, community foundation board member, and regional stakeholder. I’m excited for the opportunity to give back and help lead SWIF’s impactful work,” Stacy said.

Originally from northwest Iowa, Stacy moved with her family to Marshall in 2005. She spent 17 years at her alma mater Southwest Minnesota State University in fundraising and development. She also previously volunteered on the board of the Marshall Community Foundation, one of SWIF’s 31 community foundation partners.

Stacy holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration and management, a master’s degree in leadership and a doctorate in higher education administration. She’s passionate about investing in others through hospitality, education, and leadership,

“Stacy brings an exceptional combination of strategic leadership, deep community knowledge, and authentic passion for philanthropy. In addition, her long‑standing relationship with SWIF make her uniquely positioned to help advance our mission and inspire generosity across Southwest Minnesota,” said SWIF President Scott Marquardt.

Stacy joins the team as we celebrate 40 years. Since our founding in 1986, SWIF has been a regional leader in building local economies and advocating for and responding to community needs. We have invested nearly $130 million through grantmaking and business lending in the last four decades.
