Mark Titus
6 years of service
Mark has built a family and career in his hometown of Jackson, where he has been committed to education, economic development, and community giving. He has brought that pride and commitment to his regional role on the Southwest Initiative Foundation Board of Directors and been instrumental in raising our brand and profile in Jackson County.
Mark has served many roles during his two terms on the board, including as secretary. He chaired the newly created Development and Farmland Committee since 2018, served on the Investment Committee, and served on the Capital Investment Task Force.
His lived experience serving the Jackson County Central Education Fund, community foundation and school board made Mark an immediate champion for Grow Our Own. He and his wife Linda have supported our local funds and southwest Minnesota as members of our Growing Home Circle.
Mark worked as a practicing veterinarian in Jackson for many years as well as in the animal health industry. He received his undergraduate college education at Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa, and his DVM and MS degrees from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn. Mark has shared his expertise in animal science, bringing a global and regional perspective to our community conversations, and his was a valuable voice in our work. He approached his leadership with honesty, forthrightness and a sense of humor, and his encouragement of staff has been professionally and personally appreciated.
Thank you to Mark for his leadership and service in southwest Minnesota!
