More information about the lunch and learn session: Board Engagement Strategies, presented by Propel Nonprofits

Strong board engagement doesn’t happen by accident – it’s the result of intentional practices that build trust, clarity, and shared purpose. At this Lunch & Learn, we’ll explore elements of healthy board governance: purposeful recruitment and onboarding, clear norms and accountability, effective board structures, and ongoing board development.

Together, we’ll discuss practical strategies to strengthen these core practices and increase meaningful participation from your board members. You’ll walk away with actionable tips and facilitation techniques you can begin using right away to create more engaging, productive board meetings.

Whether you’re a nonprofit leader seeking to reenergize your board, a new staff member learning how to partner with board members, or simply looking to refine your governance practices, this session will offer tools and insights to help you build a more aligned and effective board.

Whether you’re facing a new challenge or exploring an opportunity, having a thought partner can make all the difference. Propel Nonprofits knows that talking through ideas can help leaders identify actionable steps and move forward with confidence. With deep expertise in finance, governance, and strategy, their goal is to support nonprofit leaders as they navigate both obstacles and opportunities within their organizations.

Propel provides thought partnership and guidance across the areas listed below. Their support is always informed by your organization’s context — including funding conditions, the political and economic environment, your position in the fiscal year, and any additional information you choose to share.

Throughout the conversation, Propel will offer recommendations and share relevant resources. Some may involve services that Propel provides, while others may point you to experts in different fields. You do not need to know exactly what topic you want to discuss before booking time with us—they’re here to listen, understand, and work with you to get unstuck.

Examples of what Propel can help with includes: cash flow planning, budgeting and reforecasting, business model review, scenario planning, governance questions, and preparing for a loan.
