Community Foundation and Education Foundation partners are invited to join the Southwest Initiative Foundation Giving Team and fellow advisory board members for a hands-on workshop to learn about writing an engaging year-end fundraising letter. We’ll help craft and edit your letter so that it’s ready to send to your donors. After the workshop, we’ll visit a project that has been supported by local community foundation grant dollars. We’ll end our time together with an optional networking social.
The three Fund Partner Workshops have been consolidated to one workshop on Thursday, September 28 in Granite Falls. The workshops that were scheduled for September 26 in Hutchinson and October 3 in Worthington are cancelled. About the workshop
- Schedule: Workshop, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.; Site Visit, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; Optional networking social at a local establishment, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (food and beverages provided by SWIF)
- We encourage two or more fellow advisory board members to attend together. This way, you’ll be able to bounce ideas off each other and collaborate during the workshop.
- Attendees should bring the following to ensure that our time together is productive: a copy of your foundation’s most recent fundraising letter; an idea, theme or story you’d like to share with donors; a picture you can feature in the letter; a fundraising goal; laptop; your questions – we want to help!
- Other technical assistance will be available, such as: pulling donor lists, tutorials for mail merge and more!
Each advisory board member who drives to a workshop will be reimbursed for mileage. If two or more advisory board members attend, SWIF will purchase custom stickers and thank you notes for your foundation!
