Minnesota Compass is all about bringing together local leaders, organizations, and residents to chat and make sense of social, economic, and environmental data that impacts well-being in your area.

At the Southwest Roadshow, you’ll get a detailed regional dashboard and trends presentation focusing on quality-of-life topics like workforce, housing, health, and economic conditions specific to the Southwest region. You’ll also have the opportunity to share how Compass can better serve your region, network with local leaders, and get some hands-on data training.

The event is happening on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Willmar Conference Center in Willmar. Best part? It’s free and includes a meal!

Trends Presentation and Lunch: 1:00-2:00 PM

Compass staff will share a trends presentation highlighting quality-of-life trends specific to your region, including workforce, housing, health, and economic conditions.

Listening Sessions: 2:00-3:00 PM

Share your experience and learn from other local leaders and community members about regional strengths and challenges, and how Minnesota Compass can better support regional needs.

Interactive Trainings: 3:00-4:00 PM

Dive into the data with interactive workshops, hands-on training, and/or a topical presentation. (Specifics for this portion of the event will be shared with registrants closer to the event date.)

Minnesota Compass was developed when leaders from across Minnesota voiced a desire to have credible, easy-to-access data about their communities. Wilder Research worked with advisors representing business, government, nonprofit, and philanthropy to create Minnesota Compass as a statewide resource for reliable information.

At Minnesota Compass, we compile data and information from reliable sources and make it easy to understand. We track trends and measure progress on quality-of-life measures that are chosen and developed by community advisors. And we help analyze and interpret data so policymakers and nonprofit, business, and community leaders can make informed decisions to benefit their communities.
