Pipestone Area Community Foundation
Established in 1999, the Pipestone Area Community Foundation (PACF) is dedicated to promoting a greater life for present and future generations by meeting needs and creating opportunities in the Pipestone Area. Organized under the umbrella of Southwest Initiative Foundation, the community foundation is a vehicle for making charitable contributions for the benefit of the community through a permanent endowment fund that enables people to give back and fulfill the dreams for tomorrow. A local advisory board provides oversight and directs how funds will be used for the exclusive benefit of the Pipestone area.
Local Advisory Board
The Pipestone Area Community Foundation sets grant-making priorities through regular review of community needs and opportunities. Grants are made to qualified non-profit organizations that have an interest in building and strengthening the community and surrounding area. The Pipestone Area Community Foundation and its related funds have granted nearly $930,000 to support local organizations and projects, including Senior Dining/Meals on Wheels, the city recreation department, Pipestone County Historical Society, educational and extracurricular needs, equipment for youth athletics and the arts, and the building of the Schroeder Center.
