Action Trackchair started in Marshall in 2008 by owner Tim Swenson. This company is changing lives…and getting a lot of well-deserved attention for doing so.
This all-terrain chair has tracks like a skid loader and uses a joystick like in a video game, getting people who use wheelchairs out hunting, hiking, climbing, fishing, just enjoying the outdoors!
They’ve made about 2,000 chairs and recently moved into a brand new facility. These chairs are shipped throughout the world–to veterans, people who were in accidents, kids. Viewers of Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News Channel show have raised millions of dollars to supply veterans with these chairs after he saw one in action at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
We had a chance to tour Action Trackchair with our board and saw pride in all of the employees as they smiled and greeted us. People in our rural communities have such heart—when you pair that with innovative ideas and skilled, dedicated workers, you end up with some pretty special businesses that call southwest Minnesota home!
Get a quick look at the chairs in action and hear from Tim in this Minnesota Bound video clip.
