It’s Thanksgiving. And I/we have SO much to be thankful for.
Let’s start with the awesome board and staff of the Southwest Initiative Foundation. What an amazing group of people, each and every one one of them. What stands out the most and for what I am most thankful for is their true and real commitment to the southwest region, their community, business or organization and their families. You need to know – we have the BEST. We really do!
I am SO thankful to all of our donors – over 2,000 listed in our recent edition of Looking Forward, Giving Back – who are investing in the region, communities, projects, programs, youth and most of all the future. I am so positive about the future because of those who give back. We are so blessed!
We started our 25th anniversary tour of local celebrations in six of our 18 counties last week. What an incredible two days of celebrating 25 years with friends of the Foundation, including donors, former board members and advisors, community and business leaders and even children. A special thanks to all those who came to Windom, Lakefield, Worthington, Luverne, Pipestone and Slayton/Lake Shetak. We will be celebrating in 12 more counties between now and March with a finale 25th anniversary banquet celebration May 20, 2011. Please plan to join us!
Let’s be sure and thank ALL our veterans and remember the men and women fighting at war today and serving our nation. We owe them and their families a huge THANKS.
I also want to give a special thanks to those who are reaching out and helping others that have lost their jobs and/or may not have adequate resources for food, clothing or shelter.
Serving as President/CEO of Southwest Initiative Foundation is incredibly humbling. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve our great region.
Happy Thanksgiving.
