Guest Post from Diana Anderson, incoming interim president/CEO
We’re excited to be part of Farmfest next week, Aug. 5-7. Farmfest is a way to celebrate Minnesota’s rich history of agriculture. It highlights the best of our rural values – innovation, hard work, community pride, importance of family.
We’re proud this event takes place in the heart of our southwest Minnesota region. Gilfillan Estate near Redwood Falls is a beautiful location. Many people have been working hard to coordinate this event, which many look forward to attending each year.
Southwest Initiative Foundation has a booth in the Ag Tent where we’ll have board members and staff ready to connect with you and talk about our Keep It Growing℠ farmland giving program. If you have any questions about how farmland giving can help you find tax savings, a secure income stream for life and a way to continue your farm legacy, Farmfest would be a great place to learn more.
Plus, we’ll be giving away some special gifts at our booth!
Thanks to a great partnership with the Pearson Books Foundation and Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, we were able to purchase brand new children’s books for a fraction of the retail cost.
If you stop by our Farmfest booth 3504 in the middle Ag Tent, you can get a book for your child, grandchild, neighbor or student—while our book supply lasts.
Giving out books is one way to connect the Southwest Initiative Foundation’s work of helping every young child get a great start to life through learning, achieving and succeeding.
There’s more!
Do you tune in to the Linder Farm Network and hear our weekly radio interviews? Mention you heard us on the Linder Farm Network and you’ll get an extra gift – one of our Keep It Growing℠ caps. These caps were a hit last year, so we’re bringing them back.
I hope you’ll stop by our booth to say hello, introduce yourself and pick up your special gifts!
