Farm kids learn valuable lessons from a young age. Early mornings, late nights and tough years build hard work and discipline. Caring for animals means focusing on the needs of others. And the combine always seems to break at the worst time, making problem solving under pressure second nature.
No matter where our kids come from, we want to share important lessons with them and give them the best possible start in life. At this year’s Farmfest, we’re giving free books to kids as a way to promote reading. Interacting with families at the show is such a highlight. Visit us next week, Aug. 1-3, in booth 3504, where Southwest Initiative Foundation staff will be on hand to talk about all of our work, including the Grow Our Own initiative focusing on raising up youth living in poverty. We look forward to seeing you there!
