Blush & Bliss Med Spa opens in Redwood Falls
Local entrepreneur benefits from Southwest Initiative Foundation loan program
REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. – Maisie Hagert has opened Blush & Bliss Med Spa with help from Southwest Initiative Foundation’s (SWIF) Microenterprise Loan Program. This beauty and wellness destiation offers a wide range of medically guided cosmetic treatments and procedures, also known as medical aesthetics.
Hagert is a registered nurse with 13 years of experience in the field, along with 4 years working in health care prior to obtaining her nursing license. Her interest in entrepreneurship started young, influenced by her parents’ successful businesses. The growing medical spa industry presented a unique opportunity for Hagert to merge her passion for business ownership with her nursing expertise, knowledge and compassion.
“I started this business because I want to provide a different type of support to patients by giving them the confidence and self-esteem they desire using medical aesthetics,” Hagert said. “Our mission is to enhance the natural beauty and improve the health and wellness of all clients.”
Blush & Bliss Med Spa is located at 132 E 2nd Street in Redwood Falls, inside the Hair Company Salon, which is owned by Hagert’s sister-in-law. In addition to Hagert, staff includes certified Family Nurse Practitioner Samantha Bryce.
The med spa offers wrinkle treatment and prevention, dermal fillers, microneedling, hair restoration, IV hydration, intramuscular injections, medically guided weight loss, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, facials and chemical peels.
Loan proceeds from SWIF provided Hagert working capital for expenses. Loan programs have been a key function of SWIF since its inception to support communities and businesses throughout southwest Minnesota. In 2001, microlending was added to existing programs as a tool to support small businesses and people looking for self-employment opportunities.
Microloan clients also receive free technical assistance from SWIF staff to improve their business management skills. Areas of support include business planning and financials analysis, accounting software training, marketing assistance and other training opportunities for the life of the loan.
“It’s great to see Maisie become part of the downtown business community in Redwood Falls, and we’re happy to be part of helping her dreams of entrepreneurship come true,” said Jackie Turner, SWIF Economic Development Officer.
This microloan program receives funding assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture. For more information, contact SWIF at 800-594-9480, 320-587-4848 or [email protected].
