The Southwest Minnesota Foundation
granted over $1.3 million to 140 projects in 2004. Of that
total, $67,000 was granted by the Foundation's component funds.
These dollars were investments in the people and communities
of southwest Minnesota. Grants were awarded to projects that
promote productive aging, promote inclusive communities, connect
youth and communities, promote economic advancement, and promote
philanthropy.
The
Foundation provided leadership and resources to many proactive
initiatives in 2004, such as the Early Childhood Initiative,
Fatherhood Network, Child Guide, Parish Nursing, Intergenerational
Initiative, the Nonprofit Institute and Technical Assistance
Program, and Economic Advancement.
