Community and Designated Funds Grants

Community and desinated funds are those established through the Southwest Initiative Foundation for a designated purpose or for the exclusive benefit of a particular community.  These funds are advised by a committee of local volunteers who understand the needs of their community, organization or cause, and make recommendations on grant awards.

One benefit of these funds is the valuable source of grant funding they have become for local communities. Since the Southwest Initiative Foundation's grantmaking is targeted to projects related to its current priority areas, community foundations and designated funds often fill a valuable niche by funding worthwhile projects that don’t fit within the current grant criteria.

Click on the community headline links to view the individuals, businesses and organizations who donated to those funds in FY07.
