DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online lunch-and-learn session lead by Jess Birken\, host of the podcast Charity Therapy and owner of Birken Law Office\, a firm dedicated to helping nonprofits. This session will last 1 hour\, including time for questions. The content is tailored for southwest Minnesota nonprofits. \n\n\n\nNonprofits love press coverage – until it’s for the wrong reasons. What can nonprofits learn from the recent Feeding Our Future scandal that rocked the nonprofit sector? Is even MORE oversight and compliance for nonprofits really the best way to protect community charitable funds? What role does a board or key staff have in protecting nonprofits from bad actors? Who holds responsibility anyway? Attorney for nonprofits\, Jess Birken presents several lessons organizations of all sizes can take away from this national news sensation and FBI investigation. \n\n\n\nWe are proud to host this online training\, because we know that strong nonprofits are essential to a thriving region where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
