John Koch of Winsted recently received loan assistance from the Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) Microenterprise Loan Program to start up Timber Garage Door Systems LLC. Timber Garage Door Systems is purchasing Beneke Garage Door, a garage door installation and repair business based in Glencoe, and will continue to provide those services in the area.
Timber Garage Door Systems will install and repair doors on commercial, residential, multifamily housing and farm buildings. Koch will offer 24-hour service, seven days per week and focus on preventative maintenance and repair. He can be reached at 320-485-4116 in Winsted or 320-864-6401 in Glencoe.
“John and his crew have the knowledge and skills to provide a great service this part of our region,” said SWIF Microenterprise Program Officer Kurt Thompson. “We are excited to have the opportunity to work with John and are pleased to be a part of the business growth in McLeod County.”
Proceeds from the SWIF loan will be used to purchase the existing company. SWIF’s Microenterprise Loan Program offers loans of up to $35,000 for starting or expanding for-profit small businesses located within the 18 counties of southwest Minnesota that have a need for additional sources of funds. In addition, technical assistance is available from SWIF as needed for the length of the loan. The program receives funding assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration, as well as from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
