Yesterday marked another philanthropic milestone for Minnesota, with more than $17 million being donated online for Give to the Max Day. Due to an unprecedented amount of giving, the GiveMN.org website was down for part of the afternoon. But that didn’t stop donors from stepping up to support more than 4,400 nonprofits throughout the state.
The total given to the Southwest Initiative Foundation’s family of funds was $8,955. Thank you, donors, for your generosity! This means great things for our communities and entire region! Watch this 30-second video to see what these gifts support.

All gifts to our 24 community foundation partners’ general endowment funds during the 24-hour period were included in a random drawing to have a $500 prize added, courtesy of matching funds from SWIF. Our 2013 SWIF Silver Ticket winners are:
- Darin Prescott, who gave to the Morton Area Community Foundation
- Theresa Zaske, who gave to the Balaton Area Community Foundation
Congratulations to our winning GiveMNians and the communities they supported!
Final prizes awarded by GiveMN.org will be announced next week, so watch their website for additional information.
Thank you to all who gave through GiveMN.org and made Give to the Max Day a huge success statewide!
