Willmar’s Welcoming Week event will take place on

Saturday, September 11 • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Selvig Park in downtown Willmar

Activities include:

• Chalk
• Bubbles
• Drumming
• Latina dancers
• Community songbook singing
• Henna

Co-located with this event will be a “Miles 4 Mentors” run kicking off at 9:50 a.m., followed by Willmar Main Street’s “Touch-a-Truck” event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the First Presbyterian’s 150th Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food Vendors, artistic performances, and family-friendly activities will be located throughout the downtown area! 

Local partners include Willmar Main Street, Willmar Human Rights Commission, Ridgewater College, Willmar YMCA, Goodwill Easter Seals, League of Women Voters, Community Ed, Vision 2040, Interfaith Networks, Community Integration Center and others.

This event is part of Welcoming Week celebrations across southwest Minnesota led by local communities and supported by Southwest Initiative Foundation in partnership with Pioneer PBS and Southwest Minnesota Arts Council. Learn more about Welcoming Week
