Cultures on the Prairie (Virtual)

February 23 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Learn more about the different cultures throughout southwest Minnesota at Cultures on the Prairie, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

During this virtual event, you will experience the stories, history, and cultures throughout southwest Minnesota by listening and interacting with three select panels which will discuss the views from employers/workforce personnel, students and adults. These panels will highlight challenges, successes and opportunities as they relate to their specific culture. This will provide you and your staff the insight when hiring and serving all people of southwest Minnesota.

There will be time for table talk to discuss and reflect on topics surrounding diversity and race. Entertainment and presentations will be provided by SMSU student culture groups and our keynote speaker, Jessica Oaxaca. Jessica is a 2014 graduate of Marshall High School and serves as Director Of Communications for the Minnesota State Senate.
