Welcoming Week September 10 – 19, 2021, is an opportunity to celebrate the values that unite us as neighbors, parents, and colleagues, and to make our communities more welcoming to all those who call southwest Minnesota home.
This Welcoming Week, let’s declare that Belonging Begins With US — that each and every one of us has the power to help others, regardless of their background, to be seen, embraced, welcomed and included in our vibrant communities.

The purpose of Welcoming Week is to elevate a spirit of unity that shows the successful multi-racial democracy we can be if everyone truly belongs in the places they call home, including immigrants. Southwest Initiative Foundation is proud to be part of Welcoming Week as a Welcoming America member. By acknowledging belonging begins with us, we call for our neighborhoods, communities and workplaces in the region to be welcoming places where everyone belongs.
