Last Deck, Inc.

The Southwest Minnesota Foundation’s expanded partnership with the Prairieland Economic Development Corporation has proven to be a huge success in the past year.  Prairieland administers the Foundation’s loan programs, with the exception of the Micro Enterprise Loan Program.  The new partnership provides small businesses with an expanded pool of loan dollars and services that gives them more options and opportunities to attain economic success.

Last Deck, Inc., of Jackson is an outstanding example of how the partnership between Prairieland and the Foundation works for the benefit of small businesses.  Last Deck is a high-quality maintenance-free aluminum decking manufacturing facility, located in Jackson, MN.  Both Prairieland and the Foundation participated as lenders on this project, along with the Heron Lake State Bank.  The funds allowed Doug and Kristi Deel, owners of Last Deck, to purchase equipment to expand their current product line to meet the growing needs of a national market.

Last Deck is an innovative and successful small business in southwest Minnesota and the Foundation is proud to have been able to assist the company in its growth and expansion.
